LONESTAR Faction Guide
Faction Card
Identity
Western-aligned private military company
How to Join
Available from the start. You choose a faction when setting up your soldier for deployment — LONESTAR is one of the three playable mercenary companies in WARDOGS.
How It Shows Up in Match
Your faction shows up everywhere a soldier does: the faction tag rides your name in the match feed, your livery marks vehicles and uniforms, and team assignment groups you with (and against) the other companies. Community-documented: spawn vehicle pools differ per faction.
Identity & Background
Identity and Backstory
LONESTAR is the game's Western-style paramilitary heavyweight — the company community shorthand casts as the American-flavored PMC of the three. Community lore-building (fan-documented, not official canon) associates it with Abrams-pattern main battle tanks and a contractor culture of big checks and bigger explosions.
How LONESTAR Plays in a Match
Faction choice does not change your weapons or tracks — every soldier draws from the same arsenal and levels the same six progression lines. What LONESTAR changes is who you fight beside: team assignment, spawn context and the company you represent in the 100-player, three-team struggle for the Control Zone.
Community Standing in Early Access
Through the first Early Access week, players report no functional gameplay advantage between the three factions — the differences are presentation, identity and (per community reports) spawn vehicle flavor. That balance could change as the war escalates through EA seasons.
Should You Pick It?
Should You Sign With LONESTAR?
If you want the Western PMC fantasy — heavy armor, contractor swagger, Abrams-shaped rumors — LONESTAR is the company that sells it. Functionally you give up nothing and gain nothing mechanical in the current build: your cash, tracks and loadouts work identically under any banner.
Playing Under the Banner
Treat the faction as your team's uniform, not its strategy. The Control Zone does not care who holds it; the match cares that 100 players split into three teams fight over one objective. Bring a squad, bring smoke, and let the banner be identity rather than doctrine.
